Jack Kennedy edged ever closer to clinching the Quattro British Supersport Championship on Saturday afternoon with victory in the Sprint race at Snetterton.

 The Mar-Train Racing Yamaha rider dominated proceedings to win by almost nine seconds from Jaimie van Sikkelerus (MPM Routz Racing Yamaha) with Lee Johnston (Ashcourt Racing Yamaha) taking third.
 
Kennedy grabbed the holeshot, the worse thing possible for his rivals, and immediately began to pull away, Johnston slotting into second from the Astro-JJR Triumph pairing of Rhys Irwin and Tom Toparis. van Sikkelerus was unable to take advantage of his front row start as he completed the first lap back in seventh.
 
By the end of lap three, Kennedy’s lead was already in excess of two seconds with Johnston having a comfortable gap over Irwin and Jamie Perrin, who later ran on to the grass going into Agostini’s, but van Sikkelerus was beginning to move forward and was up to fifth after overhauling Bradley Perie (Appleyard Macadam Yamaha) and Luke Stapleford (Gearlink Kawasaki).
 
Kennedy was adding almost a second a lap to his lead every lap and all eyes focused on van Sikkelerus as he made his way through the pack. Indeed, with two laps to go, he was on the back wheel of Johnston and soon made a pass to take over second place.
 
Almost simultaneously, Perie crashed out at Nelson’s with Irwin taking to the grass as a result and whilst Kennedy romped to a 8.9s victory from van Sikkelerus and Johnston, the late shuffling of the order meant it was Perie’s team-mate Harry Truelove who came through for fourth ahead of Jack Scott, the leading GP2 rider, and Luke Jones.
 
Stapleford, the recovering Irwin, Toparis and Eugene McManus completed the top ten.
