Snetterton BSB: Law intent on consolidating GP2 series lead

Mason Law and the Spirit Moto Corsa GP2 team arrive at Snetterton in Norfolk as Quattro British GP2 Championship leaders and are intent on consolidating the advantage.

Law bagged a brace of second-placed podium finishes in the class at the Donington Park season opener which took Law by surprise.

"Donington Park was surprisingly positive on a brand new prototype machine, which needs more track time than we've been able to offer it, to progress the package," he said.

"Through no fault of the team, we've lacked that track time, basically because of the lockdown situation. On a personal level I'm please with how things are going so far.

"We've done our utmost to be as competitive as possible, while working around the teething issues of a new package; but the boys have been busy and very committed and must be commended for that.

" We went to Donington not knowing quite what to expect, despite being as well-prepared as the time allowed... and we did a good job.

"If we are honest, we weren't ready to be at the front of the class at round one, and that's not being defeatist, but it's where we are. The progress and hard work has paid dividends already.

"Of course it's great to be leading the championship and we will continue to put in the effort at Snetterton this weekend. We've had some upgrades which is encouraging, and the development within the Spirit Moto Corsa GP2 team is only going to continue in the right direction."
