Stacey, Lahti join Stauff Connect Academy Superstock team

Storm Stacey and Eemeli Lahti will race under the Stauff Quick Connect Academy Superstock banner in 2019.

Finland’s Lahti will campaign a Kawasaki ZX-10RR in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 series while 15-year-old Stacey gets the use of a ZX-6R in the 600 Stock series.

“We took a good look at running in Moto3 again but felt that my height was becoming an issue, I wanted to make sure that I made the right move, and joining the Stauff Quick Connect Academy on a Kawasaki 636 for Superstock 600 will help me develop as a rider in the right environment,” said Stacey.

“It’s a late start so the hard work starts now and I am really looking forward to getting stuck in and learning as much as I can.

“I would like to thank Brent and the team for offering me this opportunity and of course my family and personal sponsors for their continued support.”

Lahti added: “I’m super-excited to be racing in the BSB paddock again. This is a huge opportunity for me racing with a fantastic team and with fantastic bike in such a competitive series as National Superstock 1000.

“This is going to be my first year with a big bike and with a foreign team. I think we will face some difficulties during first weekends but that’s how racing is. We just need to work hard together and get faster and stronger every day and we will fight for podiums quickly.”

This will be the sixth straight season Stauff has partnered with Brent Gladwin’s GR Motorsport operation.
