Reigning British Supersport Champion Jack Kennedy is on the hunt for a new, full-time ride in 2020 after his Santander TAG Yamaha team took the ‘tough’ decision to withdraw from this year’s Bennetts British Superbikes series.

Both Kennedy, who was expected to be at the business end of the series from day one this year, and Dan Linfoot have been plagued by chatter and no amount of work, new parts and even a Dunlop tyre test has been able to fix it.

The team announced this morning they would take no further part in this year’s championship to focus on 2021. Kennedy has been offered a place in that setup.

“The season has been strange in many ways with the pandemic and then this. It’s a tough situation, not one I have been in before but it seems a good solution and gives everyone the benefit of working towards the same goal which is to get the job sorted for 2021,” Kennedy told bikesportnews.com this morning.

“My team has taken this tough decision, and they have been pretty decent to me, standing by me and showing great belief in me as a rider. They have given me a lifeline to stand-in with other teams for the rest of the season, and an offer to ride for them in 2021.”

It is believed the Irishman will be at Silverstone this weekend after another team has made provisions for a third bike and says he will also be looking at other series.
