2019 Suzuki MotoGP engine spec 'not yet finalised'

Ecstar Suzuki’s Alex Rins believes he and rookie MotoGP team-mate Joan Mir will have a competitive GSX-RR next season even though the engine spec is not yet finalised.

Rins, along with Mir and test rider Sylvain Guintoli, ran the gamut of options over two days at Jerez and reckon they have come up with something.

“These two days have been very positive because we tried everything, new chassis, new engine, and lots of comparisons,” said Rins.

“We started with the 2018 chassis and the new engine specification and we tried all the suggestions that the engineers made, it was very positive.

“We haven’t finalised yet, but the engineers are working on this. We feel like we can have a very competitive bike.”
