Former WorldSBK champ Tom Sykes has made his factory BMW debut at the Almeria circuit in Spain this morning.

Sykes, with team-mate Markus Reiterberger who has been involved in the new S1000RR’s development, has turned his first laps on the bike which he hopes will take him back to the sharp end of the championship.

BMW is keeping the test as secret as possible, so no photographers have been allowed to attend. It is thought both riders are using mule fairings and plain leathers.
