Japanese Moto3 star Kaito Toba has signed to join the Red Bull KTM squad for 2020.
It will be Toba's fourth season in the grand prix paddock after winning the 2014 Asia Talent Cup and starring in both the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the FIM CEV, where he achieved three wins and three further podiums in 2015 and 2016.
The following year, Toba debuted in the World Championship, where he now has 50 races under his belt. Toba recorded his first GP victory in Qatar this season, thus becoming the first Japanese rider to win in the lightweight class in the last 12 years.
"I’m very happy to be joining Red Bull KTM Ajo for the 2020 season. The team have had some great riders with them in the past and they have won several World Championship titles so it will be an honour to become part of that family," said Toba.
"I’m really looking forward to starting my work with them. My goal for next year is to be competitive in every session and every race in order to get the best results possible."
