Two Wheels for Life totals £206,550 at Silverstone

Silverstone’s MotoGP fans were out in force for British charity Two Wheels for Life last weekend with an impressive £206,550 raised so far.

With the return of an action-packed and hugely successful Day of Champions on Thursday August 4th, the British Grand Prix continued the fundraising throughout the Silverstone weekend.

Highlights from the event included:

  • Day of Champions auction £77,550
  • Saturday evening auction £22,850
  • Valentino Rossi chequered flag £4500
  • Kenny Roberts Snr crash helmet worn at the Goodwood Festival of Speed £3800

The grand total of £206,550 combines the auctions listed above with Day of Champions ticket sales, tickets for the ride in, the helmet park, merchandise and the sale of the MotoGP two-seater rides.

Riders across the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 classes were involved in the Day of Champions auction with host and racing commentator Michael Hill and BT Sport presenter Suzi Perry on stage to coordinate the day and entertain the fans with the unique memorabilia on offer - for the first time since 2019 - including the sale of the signed chequered flag used to end the final race of nine-times world champion Valentino Rossi at Valencia in 2021.

“The entire weekend at Silverstone has been an incredible experience and, as always, the fans, along with all of the MotoGP teams, riders, and the organisers at Dorna, have helped us to raise a huge amount of money,” Two Wheels CEO and founder Andrea Coleman said.

"Without the help of Monster Energy, Silverstone, and Dorna - as well as all of the fantastic Two Wheels for Life volunteers, none of this would have been possible. We need to say a huge thank you to Michael Hill who was a blur of energy when he was presenting on stage and without his kindness and generosity, the auctions would have been so much harder to make succeed.

"We fully appreciate these are hard times for everyone so any donations that have been made are hugely appreciated.”
