Verwey brothers set for return to Junior Supersport

Brothers Kade and Luke Verwey will return to the Dickies British Junior Supersport Championship this year as the pair bid for further success during the 2019 season.

Nine podiums including two race wins took Kade to a solid fourth overall in the 2018 Championship standings but the XG Racing Kawasaki rider wants more and is back to challenge for top honours this year. His brother Luke meanwhile will be aiming for his first podium finish in the class.

“I don’t want to dwell on last season too much, I mean fourth overall is good, but it could have been better. This year I am racing to win the title. I have been training really hard and I just need to come out fighting and challenge for the overall win," said Kade.

"A podium in every race and no mistakes would be nice! It is important that I continue to grow as a rider and get faster so that whatever I do in 2020 I am ready.

“I am also really looking forward to continuing to work with Leon Haslam, he helps massively with everything both on and off track and as there’s not many clashes with his World Superbike commitments it should be even better. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve as a team and I hope that everyone will follow my social media and come along for the ride.”

Luke added: “2019 is looking pretty awesome so far! I can now announce that I will be racing in BSB Junior Supersport again and I can’t wait to get started. The target is to fight for the podium in the opening rounds and I hope for every round.

"I learned a lot last year and I think with all the preparation I’ve done over the off-season that I can put it all into practice and improve on my results from last year. Testing was great and it’s all looking positive.

“I am really looking forward to the official test in Cartagena where like last year I will work with Kade to ensure we are ready to hit the front from the word go. My target for the year is to finish inside the top three overall and to increase my profile as much as possible, so I hope everyone will follow my social media channels.”
