Peter Hickman sent a shockwave around the racing world when he set a 135.4mph outright lap record at the Isle of Man TT this year and it kind of eclipsed Dean Harrison's effort of just 134mph in the Superbike race the previous weekend. Then again, Hickman did do a 134.403mph in the Superstock race too.
Harrison and Conor Cummins, also in the 134mph club now, did play second fiddle to Hickman who also won his first two races at TT 2018 and the three of them were the main protagonists at the Ulster Grand Prix, while Hickman went on to win at Macau for the third time.
The North West 200 always throws in some different riders and it was the Seeley and Irwin show again in 2018 while Lee Johnston, Michael Rutter and James Hillier were also in the mix, as was Michael Dunlop and Gary Johnson.
In Ireland, Derek McGee dominated the Superbike and Supersport classes to win both national road race championships with Derek Sheils and Michael Sweeney in the pot while Danny Webb was crowned the IRRC champion.
