Vote for your BSN MotoGP Rider of the Year 2019

This season wasn’t exactly a vintage year in terms of competition in the MotoGP championship with Marc Marquez again proving almost unstoppable at a variety of tracks and in all conditions.

Andrea Dovizioso and Maverick Vinales won a couple of races each which was to be expected but challenges to the might of at least one half of the Repsol Honda garage also came from two other and slightly unexpected sources.

Ecstar Suzzuki’s Alex Rins took advantage of Marquez’ only non-finish of the season when he won his first-ever MotoGP at Austin and then straight outsmarted his fellow Spaniard to win his second at Silverstone.

Unfortunately for Rins, his efforts were overshadowed by the rookie Fabio Quartararo. Dismissed by many as less than an also ran having failed to get Moto3 and Moto2 on fire, the Frenchman set about 2019 with a bat and was the only week-in, week-out challenger to Marquez.

The Petronas SRT rider didn’t win a race this year but took seven podiums in his first season in the premier class. That is not to be sniffed at.
