'We need to know which bike HRC will bring to Qatar' - Nakagami

LCR Honda's Taka Nakagami claims he hasn't spoken with HRC about the 2021 MotoGP RC213V and doesn't yet know what spec will be taken to the Qatar test net month.

The Japanese rider, who was on the verge of his maiden victory several times last season, said his only sighting of the 2021 racebike has been in the media as Stefan Bradl tested in Spain.

"Everybody knows that HRC and Stefan had a few days of testing in Jerez, but actually I didn't get any information from HRC. I didn't talk or know yet," said Nakagami.

"I saw some pictures, and the media had the points of the bike, the new chassis, new swingarm. It looks good. I'm really excited to try it, but still I haven't talked to HRC about the new bike.

"Before the Qatar test we need to understand which bike HRC will bring for all four riders, but at this moment, I don't know anything about which bike we will have.

"But it's good to see Bradl testing, and hopefully HRC can pick up the best parts for a a good base in Qatar.

"But I'm not worried about the new bike, because it's definitely much better than what I used last year. The engine performance will be much easier, more horsepower, from a 2019 bike to a 2020 engine.

"So I'm really excited and hopefully I can help develop the bike and to make it even more competitive. I know it's already competitive, but compared to other manufacturers in some points it doesn't handle the best, so I hope I can help in that area."
