Danny Webb will be back in competitive action next weekend as he stands in for the injured Kevin Manfredi for round one of the Italian CIV.
Joining the Penta Motorsports team aboard a Suzuki GSX-R 1000, Webb has been offered a one race option with rumours suggesting the potential for more, depending on the outcome of the opening race at Misano World Circuit - Marco Simoncelli.
A crash during the second day of MotoE testing at Jerez earlier this month with the Octo Pramac team left Italian Manfredi with several fractures to his ribs alongside trauma to his lungs. While his recovery is ongoing, the 27-year-old will not be ready for the national championship’s season opener, with his FIM EWC Wójcik Racing teammate, Webb stepping into the breech.
The 31-year-old has recently been seen training young British talent at his GP Camp, with the final weekend of the pre-season welcoming his former WorldSBK team manager James Toseland.
