Wilson Racing return with three-rider Talent Cup line-up

Wilson Racing will take on the challenge of the 2020 British Talent Cup with a three-rider line up and a new title sponsor in FWD Motion.

FWD Motion is an experienced, full-service creative agency, specialising in boosting brands for global, national and local organisations. They have provided a completely new look for the 2020 Wilson Racing Moto3 machines.

The Barnsley based team won the British Motostar standard class Moto3 title in 2017 with Max Cook, whilst last year they took to the podium in the ultra-competitive European Talent Cup.

Restored to the BSB Paddock for 2020 they field a completely new rider line up. 17-year-old Josh Hiatt from Cannock has two year’s previous experience of a standard Moto3. Last year he finished fifth in the British Motostar standard class.

Hiatt is joined by two 12-year-old racers who will embark on their first ever competitive races on a Honda NSF250R this year.

James Cook (The Captain), is the younger brother of Max who went on from his title winning year in 2017 to now race in the Moto3 Junior World Championship. James finished 4th in the Cool Fab Racing Metra kit GP70 class last season taking victory at Red Lodge and holds the lap record for a GP50 at the Glan y Gors track from 2018.

He is joined by Rocket Ryan Hitchcock who also raced in the Cool Fab Racing series until this season. Ryan finished 4th in the GP50 class taking five race victories. He also competed in the GP70 finishing 6th overall. Ryan holds the lap records at the Clay Pidgeon circuit in both classes.

All three riders have recently completed a successful official BSB test at the Jerez circuit in Andalucia and are now continuing their pre-season preparations at Cartagena in Murcia.

“I am really looking forward to working with the three riders we have brought in,” said team boss Gary Wilson.

“Josh has some valuable experience he can pass on to the younger lads. Whilst James and Ryan have no previous knowledge of racing a Moto3 it will be fun working with a blank sheet of paper.

“This gives us an opportunity to instil the necessary skills to start them on the right path in this class.”
