WorldSBK Catalunya: Redding ready for the fight| Christina Bulpett | WorldSBK
BMW Motorrad’s Scott Redding is up for the fight as WorldSBK arrives in Barcelona ahead of an intense end to the season.
A podium and two top six results at Magny-Cours proved favourable for the Englishman despite the changeable weather conditions but with more of the same on the cards for round eight, and grip levels an issue at Montmeló, the Catalan circuit could prove a challenge.
“Barcelona is probably going to be one of those circuits on the race calendar that is harder for me but that does not mean we still can’t fight for good positions,” Redding said confidently ahead of round eight. “It’s a good circuit for us to work on the development of the bike as well so we will probably test a few things.
“For the weekend, the weather is looking a bit 50/50 for rain or dry so we need to also get some more laps in the rain with the BMW M1000RR. We made a step forward at Magny-Cours but we need to make more steps at Barcelona.
“I’m excited to be back racing again; I had a few days resting, so I am looking forward to it.”
