Bardahl Yamaha’s Andrea Locatelli has won the second WorldSSP race at Jerez, adding to the victory he took yesterday.
After a chaotic warm-up lap which saw Raffaele De Rosa and Axel Bassinni crash on the warm-up lap, Locatelli romped away to cross the line with a near two-second lead over Jules Cluzel.
Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) was a forceful third, holding back a final turn attack as he closed in on Cluzel as he was just too far away to make any desperate attempt stick.
Saturday race podium rider Philipp Öttl (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) was fourth after he was passed by his team-mate, with the recovered De Rosa in fifth. He had to do a lap of the track with a punctured rear tyre after his collision with Bassani on lap one of the first attempted start, before he even got to the grid to take another top five in the real race.
Corentin Perolari (GMT94 Yamaha) finished sixth, with Isaac Vinales (Kallio Racing Yamaha) seventh, Steven Odendaal (EAB Ten Kate Yamaha) eighth. The top ten was rounded out by Hannes Soomer (Kallio Racing Yamaha) and the fast starting local rider Manuel Gonzalez.
Danny Webb (WRP Wepol Racing Yamaha) was 11th and Can Oncu (Turkish Racing Team Kawasaki) 12th.
