WorldSBK Portimao: Lowes’ confidence fired up after testing changes| Christina Bulpett | WorldSBK
KRT’s Alex Lowes is set for his favourite circuit on the WorldSBK calendar as the action arrives on the Algarve this weekend.
Portimao heralds the final race weekend in Europe before Argentina, Indonesia and Australia beckon, with Lowes excited for the prospect following recent testing progress. A strong Barcelona round was backed up with two days of testing at Catalunya and Motorland Aragon, with the Brit confident he can be in the fight and repeat his podium visit from last time out.
“Portimao is one of my favourite tracks and events in general,” Lowes confirmed from the Algarve. “It’s going to end the European season for us and normally it’s a good track for me and the Ninja ZX-10RR.
“I’m aiming to continue my strong form and be fighting for the podium places again.
“We’ve made some improvements with our base set up lately, especially with the rear of the bike, which has given me even greater confidence. I can’t wait to try out the set-up changes next weekend at Portimao.”
