Buildbase BMW's Ian Lowry has called time on his Cadwell Park British Superbike participation after his S1000RR expired at the end of Park Straight after just three flying laps in this morning's free practice session.
The young Irishman has been dogged by mechanical trouble for the whole season, has only managed to score 14 points so far and is not happy with the reliability problems the team is suffering.
"The bike let go on the fastest part of the track after I'd only done a few laps. It's a difficult decision to not take part any more but I can't ride properly if I don't trust the bike underneath me, so there's not much point in riding at all," said Lowry, speaking to bikesportnews.com at lunchtime.
"I will go home tomorrow, re-group and have a think about what will happen in the next week or so."
