Ian Hutchinson has not had the best of seasons after making his comeback at Macau a mere twelve months ago. He finished the historic race with a win, but unfortunately the Isle of Man TT and MCE British Superbike seasons did not go as well – now the quiet Northerner is making the TT his priority in 2015.

He started the BSB year in the British Superbike class with the FFX Yamaha team, but partied ways with the Shaun Muir outfit and ended the season in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 competition with the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s team. He has re-signed with the Paul Bird outfit next year for the roads and selected BSB rounds.

Hutchinson is off to Macau in a few weeks and will be competing on the same bike that Shane Byrne won his fourth BSB title on yesterday, but to win the TT again is the main aim, even though the rider is still unsure which manufacture he will be riding at the prestigious road racing event.

“I expected this year to be hard because I spent so long out with injury, and I always wanted to compete in BSB - but that, and the roads have been a let down really,” said Hutchinson, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“I have signed for Paul Bird next year and it will be a fresh start for me, and I want to be really strong and I want to get my name back where it should be at the TT. I burnt myself out a bit last year trying to achieve in BSB and the roads.

“I will be doing the first three BSB rounds next year, but the roads are my priority and the TT. I will be doing the North West 200 and the Ulster and also Macau in a few weeks too. But I need to fight my way back to the top in the TT.”
