Silverstone WSBK: Sykes happy to remain with Kawasaki for 2013

Kawasaki's Tom Sykes has said he is happy to remain with the works-backed World Superbike team for 2013 after building up a great rapport with the squad and the factory in Japan.

Speaking to Jonathan Green about the silly season at Silverstone, Sykes said: "I've had a few cups of tea over the last few nights with the wife. We've heard all the silly season gossip and it's fantastic to be on the right side of it for once.

"There have been a lot of people that have helped me get here, and they know who they are. Myself and Kawasaki have come a long way, we have a very close relationship now. I'm a northern lad, so quite honest and loyal, so the first port of call is to stay where I am. I'm happy, it's a relaxed environment. We've shown good signs of improvement and it's only year two, let's not forget.

"Years three and four should see a big improvment, that's what I'd expect, that's what Kawasaki expect. If that's the case, and we're third in the championship at the moment, hopefullt next season would be much better."
