Rob Guiver opened up a six points lead over Leon Morris as he powered to an eight victory of the campaign in a closely fought thriller in which he held of Sean Neary by 0.050secs at the line.

Pole-starter Guiver had the edge throughout but Neary was a constant problem while behind them there was the gathering force of Jonathan Railton who was carving through the pack from eighth place on the opening lap to be running in third place on the penultimate lap.

The race had one of those traditional Assen close finishes with Guiver taking the verdict just ahead of Neary with Railton third from Robbie Brown and Morris.
