Stauff Connect Academy’s Tarran Mackenzie clinched the closest Dickies Supersport pole in recent time after both the young Scotsman and CAME BPT Yamaha’s Joe Francis posted a lap of 46.666 seconds.

The pair couldn’t be separated to the thousandth of a second, meaning Mackenzie took top spot due to his second fastest lap bettering Francis’ next best time.

Pacedays Yamaha’s Ben Currie backed up this debut middleweight win at Oulton Park three weeks ago with his first front row start of the year. The German born Aussie ended up 0.096 of a second adrift of Mackenzie and Francis and 0.093 of a second ahead of surprise fourth place man, Bjorn Estment.

East Coast Triumph’s Estment grabbed his best ever Supersport qualifying position but regardless was still frustrated knowing he could’ve been on the front row. The Johannesburg rider got held up on his flying lap before the the fuel pump on his Triumph broke with ten minutes left.

Tsingtao MV Agusta’s Jake Dixon will sit in the middle of the second row for this afternoon’s sprint race, ending up 0.035 of a second ahead of championship leader Andy Reid.

Acumen Triumph’s Luke Jones fronts the third row of the grid, buoyed by the news he will deputise for Bryan Starring at Donington Park next weekend in the European Superstock 1000 class.

Rounding out the third row of the grid were CAME BPT Yamaha’s James Westmoreland and Gearlink Kawasaki’s Mason Law.
