Bridewell upbeat despite Suzuka Eight-Hours disappointment

Britain’s Tommy Bridewell is upbeat about his performance at the 2015 Suzuka Eight-Hours even though his Penz13.com were forced to retire from the prestigious event.

The squad suffered a problem with their S1000RR’s fuel tank and then Bastien Mackels crashed out with bike beyond repair in the time available but Bridewell said he was happy with the rest of the weekend, particularly his pace on the Pirelli tyres.

“The weekend has been good, the pace was very strong and I am happy with the way I rode. I always ride with my heart and always give 110 per cent. To do the 2’09.3 with the Pirelli tyre I am very very happy with,” said Bridewell.

“With the race tyre we could run on 2’10.0 but raxe day was not a good day. This is disappointing. I am happy with the stint I put in at the start, I arrived to seventh – which is much stronger than the expectation of everyone I think. But this is racing for you. A long flight home now and I am now getting ready for British Superbikes again."
