Brands BSB: Five-time champ Byrne hoping to sign 'multi-deal' with PBM

Be Wiser Ducati’s newly crowned five-time MCE British Superbike champion, Shane Byrne would like to sign a ‘multi-deal’ with PBM team owner Paul Bird.

No contracts have been signed for next year, but it looks likely that the history maker will remain with Bird in BSB for another year on the Ducati, but Byrne has hinted that he would like to continue the PBM partnership for many more seasons.

Byrne and his team have developed the Panigale and have turned it into a race winning machine for 2016, with the total of nine finishes on top of the podium. Now Byrne wants to continue that success.

“I am really hopeful of getting a new deal done with Paul and I am really, really hopeful of doing a multi-deal with him as well,” said Byrne at the track this evening.

“He has been such an influential part of my career and we have had such success together there is no other team in this paddock that comes close. The boys know what I need and I know what
they need and we work so well. It is a fantastic partnership and one that I hope will continue for many years.”
