Cadwell BSB: Armstrong wins red flagged Stock 600 race

Moto-Breakers Kawasaki’s Keenan Armstrong bagged his debut Pirelli National Superstock 600 win, taking full advantage of a shortened race due to the red flag being brought out after championship leader Carl Phillips crashed.

Armstrong muscled his way to the front from the second row of the grid on the first lap and the Yorkshireman wasn’t bumped backwards for the remainder of the race.

Despite continual pressure from Astro-TT Racing’s Harry Truelove, Armstrong held the lead all the way round to lap eight and the point at which two-thirds race distance was completed.

On that very lap the red flag was brought out and Armstrong awarded a debut victory. Truelove wasn’t too disappointed with second, however, as it was a debut visit to the podium for the youngster.

NMT No Limits Kawasaki’s Jordan Weaving secured a fourth podium of the bounce, but more importantly cashed in on a crashing Carl Phillips as the South African jumped to the top of the championship standings. He now sits four points clear with three rounds left.

CPE Motorsport’s Brad Jones came through a quarter of a second behind Weaving in fourth, before Tim Neave came the line in a career best fifth.

Dutchman Scott Deroue held off a battling Aaron Clarke to secure sixth place before Tom Oliver, George Stanley and Tom Ward rushed across the line together, completing the top ten.
