CADWELL BSB: POLE, WIN AND POINTS FOR SIMPSON

Trickbits Racing’s John Simpson topped his dominating weekend off by taking his first win in the Metzeler National Superstock 600cc championship at Cadwell Park this weekend.
Simpson has not been a front runner in the championship until this weekend where he returned to riding a Triumph instead of the usual Yamaha that he has been using.  It was Luke Mossey of Sabre Sport who led the race into the first corner ahead of Daniel Frear of France and Li Asia Trading and Simpson.
As usual it is a racer's goal to win, but this was an important opportunity for Mossey to gain vital points back off Hamilton for the championship with which he looked set to do before crashing out on the second lap.
This put Frear in the lead ahead of Hamilton who had moved ahead of Simpson, but it wasn't long before Simpson got to the front to pull away leaving the others to battle for second.  Whilst Hamilton and Frear battled Luke Jones of MAP Raceways Yamaha had closed the gap to join the duo.
It was Hamilton who eventually settled the argument to take second increasing his championship lead to 40 points ahead of the new second place man Luke Jones who up ahead of Mossey who scored no points pushing him down to third.
The battle for fifth involved five riders who were wheel to wheel, it was Jonathan Dickson of Bell Yamaha Racing who had the last say followed by Leon Hunt of New Holland Triumph Racing, Matt Bilton of HB Motorcycles Racing and Luke Stapleford of the Buildbase Kawasaki.
Grant Whitaker of HW Whiteley was originally amongst the battlers and the most entertaining with his attacks before he crashed on lap seven.  He was one of a total of eight riders who did not finish the race one.
It was also a good day for Josh Wainwright of Linxcel-Seton Tuning who has been strong all weekend and scored his first four points of the season.  Joshua Day of George White/AIR scored some more points after a few non scoring rounds.  Johnny Blackshaw of Team HARIBO Starmix also picked up a few more showing that he is steadily bouncing back from injury.
