Danny Buchan retains Sunflower Trophy at Bishopscourt

A huge crowd flocked to the final rounds of Irish Short circuit championship today at Bishopscourt to watch MCE British Superbike star Danny Buchan lift the Sunflower Trophy for a second year running.  

Riding his MSS Performance Kawasaki  he won the feature race of the meeting  from Tyco BMW’s Alastair Seeley and third place Morello Kawasaki mounted Keith  Farmer,  Nico Mawhiney was fourth and Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Wilson and Glenn Irwin completed the top six.

Buchan also won the two Irish Superbike races, with Farmer taking the runner up spot in race one after snatching second place from Seeley on the final lap. Race two it was Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Wilson who took the flag behind Buchan and race one runner up Keith Farmer who was third.

British Supersport Gearlink Kawasaki duo Glenn Irwin and Ben Wilson were first and second in the Supersport races with Alastair Seeley third in the first race and Irwins younger brother Andrew who was filling in for injured Luke Hedger making it a Gearlink one-two-three in the second encounter.

Glenn Irwin won both the Supertwin races on John Burrows's BE Cookstown Racing Kawasaki 650.

Youngster Richard Kerr won the two Moto 3 races.
