Danny Kent confirms 2016 MotoGP deal is on table

Britain’s Danny Kent has confirmed that a MotoGP deal for 2016 is on the table but is unable to say at the moment with which team - however the smart money is going on a seat with Pramac Ducati.

Kent, who is the runaway Moto3 series leader, believes that next season will be the perfect time to make the switch to the premier class as 2016 will see the full spec electronics come into play as well as the change to Michelin tyres.

“I am still in the middle of deciding but there is an offer for MotoGP, so I am going to sit down and decide what the best route is. I think in the next couple of weeks there will be an announcement as to where I will be,” said Kent, speaking at Brno.

“My mind isn’t made up, there are still a few things to work on but any rider’s dream is to go to the top. Next year is a very good year to do it. It’s all-new tyres for everyone, the satellite team electronics will be brought closer to the factory teams. Hopefully next year with all these new rules, a satellite team would have a chance to win.”

Kent added he had also been made a good offer by his current Leopard team to move up to Moto2 with them, and Speed Up are also interested in securing his services.
