Came BPT Yamaha’s James Westmoreland grabbed his fifth Dickies British Supersport pole position of the year after leap frogging the championship’s form man, Bradley Ray, in the closing stages.

Championship leader Tarran Mackenzie was the early pace setter, getting down to a 1’32.203 with ninth lap, however the diminutive Scotsman was unable to replicate or better this pace as the session continued.

This allowed Came BPT Yamaha’s Joe Francis to jump onto the front row and it appeared as if it would be his teammate, Westmoreland, alongside him. But despite Brad Ray getting to within a quarter of a second of Graeme Gowland’s lap record, it wasn’t enough for him to hold on with Westmoreland taking top spot by 0.048 of a second.

Mackenzie will front the second row of the grid and is joined by EHA Racing’s David Allingham and Gearlink Kawasaki’s Mason Law., who is eight tenths adrift of the pacesetters.

Heading row three is the German born Aussie Ben Currie, who ended up just over a tenth quicker than the retuning and impressive Freddy Pett abroad his Dales Sport Surfaces Yamaha. Acumen Industrial Services Triumph’s Luke Jones rounds out the third row.
