Donington WorldSBK: Muir keeping future options open

Milwaukee Aprilia boss Shaun Muir is keeping his options open when it comes to a choice of manufacturer for the next two years and thinks that no decisions will be made until the rider market begins to move.

Altough Muir wouldn’t be drawn on which manufacturers he has been in discussion with alongside his current Aprilia partner, both Ducati and BMW have new bikes due for introduction next year and Suzuki still has yet to commit to a WorldSBK project.

“I’m keeping my options open. Obviously, I’ve had discussions with Aprilia about moving forward but that’s not the only thing on the table for us,” Muir told bikesportnews.com at Donington Park.

BMW are set to reveal a new S1000RR at the Cologne Show which is packed full of hyper-technology while the R version of the Panigale V4 would be available as a customer or satellite package.

Suzuki don’t seem to have the budget to commit to even a semi-factory effort under the Yoshimura banner, and developing another bike for someone else doesn’t seem to be on Muir’s radar.
