Giugliano switches to British Superbikes with Tyco BMW

Former works Ducati WorldSBK star Davide Giugliano will joins the MCE British Superbike Championship in 2017 after signing a deal to partner Christian Iddon at Tyco BMW.

The 27-year-old was ditched by Ducati in favour of veteran Marco Melandri but has found an enthusiastic home with Philip Neill’s Moneymore-based team and will bring the number 34 back to the squad.

“I’m very happy to be joining the Tyco BMW team for my first season in the British Superbike Championship. I have ridden on some of the British circuits already during my time in World Superbike, and will look forward to testing and racing on the others next year,” said Giugliano, who has yet to see in the flesh the likes of Cadwell Park and Knockhill.

“British Superbike is a very popular championship with big crowds and I know the British public is passionate about their racing; a bit like the Italian supporters, so I’m hoping to gain many fans with Tyco BMW next season. I know having raced against the BMW S1000RR it is a strong package with a lot of potential, so I’m looking forward to getting started and showing what we can do in BSB.”
