Guintoli in talks to replace injured Rins at MotoGP Le Mans

Sylvain Guintoli’s Bennetts Suzuki Hawk Racing squad are in discussions with the Ecstar Suzuki MotoGP team for the Frenchman to possibly stand-in for the crocked Alex Rins at the Le Mans round.

The former World Superbke champ is currently competing in the MCE British Superbike series, but could jump onboard the GSX-RR while the Spaniard is still recovering from a wrist injury.

The MotoGP rookie fractured bones in his left wrist during a free practice crash at Austin last week. Doctors confirmed that his recovery could take up to six to eight weeks, meaning he will miss Le Mans and possibly the Italian GP in June.

Suzuki test rider Takuya Tsuda will race in Jerez as cover for the injured Rins. Guintoli could also undertake some tests for the factory team too, if the talks come to fruition.
