Smiths BMW’s Peter Hickman has been voted the bikesportnews.com Roads Rider of the Year by a landslide, polling more than 40 per cent of the overall vote.
Hickman took five Isle of Man TT podiums in 2017 and three Ulster GP wins in what was a scorching season for the Lincolnshire rider. He bagged 43.91 per cent of the vote to win with North West 200 and Macau GP winner Glenn Irwin in second place with 16.72 per cent of the ballot.
Triple Irish roads champion Derek McGee came in third with 11.88 per cent with Michael Dunlop fourth on 8.3 per cent. Scarborough king and Ulster GP lap record holder Dean Harrison took fifth with 5.96 per cent while Dan Kneen beat Ian Hutchinson to sixth place.
