Isle of Man TT legend Ian Hutchinson is rumoured to have made a shock switch to the works Honda camp for next year’s roads season.

Hutchinson, who is still recovering from the leg injuries suffered in a crash on the Mountain at this year’s TT, has been with the Tyco BMW squad for two years.

It is thought will replace John McGuinness, injured at the North West 200, as the Morecambe Missile isn’t yet ready to climb back aboard a Superbike while Guy Martin - who also had a big crash at Doran’s Bend in TT practice when his Blade wouldn’t select a gear - will also leave and Lee Johnston gets his first seat in a works team.

The switch could also be good news for Dan Kneen who has apparently done a deal with the Moneymore outfit.
