Jerez WSBK: Camier expecting new chassis at Magny-Cours

Britain’s Leon Camier looks set to get a raft of new development parts for his World Superbike MV Agusta, incuding a chassis for the Magny-Cours round while running a new exhaust and lightly-modified engine in Spain this weekend.

Camier, who was 15th on the combined timesheet today, says he and the team really need to up their game at Jerez and get in a lot of track time tomorrow in order to make the most of the new exhaust, which is more than a kilogram lighter than its predecessor.

“I think everyone has made a step over the summer but we have started with the exact same bike as we had before. De Puniet has found something, the potential of the Ducatis, like Mercado and Canepa, is quite high, so we need to up the game,” said Camier, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.

“Hopefully for Magny-Cours we will have a new chassis. The new exhaust is a lot lighter, so we have to make a chassis change for that as it has taken weight off the back of the bike. This afternoon, we changed to the A-tyre and went faster as the B-tyre didn’t work for me at all. We need to do some laps tomorrow, figure out the race pace and there is a lot of work to do on electronics.”
