Knockhill BSB: Mackenzie clinches Stock 600 victory

Stauff Connect Academy's Tarran Mackenzie was victorious in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 race at Knockhill, but track activity came to an abrupt stop when rain started to fall heavily onto the Scottish circuit, and the red flags came out with seven laps remaining.

MWR Motorsport's Andrew Irwin was able to hold on to take second, with NMT No Limits Kawasaki's Mason Law bagging third, and extending his championship lead in the process with a solid points haul today.

Mackenzie was the fastest rider in the race, and was only one tenth off the lap record, and clinched his first win of the season too. He now leap frogs Joe Francis and goes up to third in the overall championship standings.

Currie and TTC Joe Francis rounded up the top five. But the biggest fight on track was the battle for sixth, and it was Geordie racer, Chrissy Rouse who took the spoils ahead of Mitchell-Thomas, Weaving, Rollo and Ray.

At first it was Currie who had the best start, ahead of Mackenzie, only for the Scottish racer to get the better of the Australian PacedayZ rider on lap four at Duffus Dip, and the diminutive lad never looked back and stormed to the win.
