Knockhill BSB: Mossey 'over the moon' with pole

JG Speedfit Kawasaki's Luke Mossey will place his ZX-10R on the number one spot on the starting grid for the opening MCE British Superbike race at Knockhill tomorrow.

The rider set a fast 48.297 to go top of the qualifying timesheets this afternoon, and was able to out-pace RAF Reserves Kawasaki's Jake Dixon and McAMS Yamaha's James Ellison, who complete the front row.

Mossey was the only JG Speedfit bike in the session, as team-mate Leon Haslam is recovering from a big free practice crash where he cracked some vertebrae, and suffered a concussion.

Mossey was also so close to lapping under lap record pace during quali - 0.04s to be precise, but he is just 'over the moon' with the P1 start, and would be have a bit disappointed if he didn't make it on pole today, especially after topping the free practice timesheets.

"Really happy to be on pole, and we were top yesterday in the free practice session and this morning so if I wasn't on pole I would have been a bit disappointed," said Mossey, speaking at the track.

"With what happened yesterday in the unfortunate accident that happened to Leon on Friday to award them with a pole I am over the moon and all the best to Leon. I am feeling good for tomorrow, hopefully the weather stays like this and the track improves a little bit more overnight and we should be there or there a bouts."
