Lowes confident after impressive Aragon test

Britain’s Sam Lowes goes into this weekend’s Catalunya Moto2 race full of confidence after a test in high temperatures at Aragon saw him consistently under the existing pole position record.

The Speed Up rider set his best time of 1’53.3 in the morning but remained around the 1’54s mark even with a track temperature of more 55°C.

“Testing was mega. We tried a lot of things which worked in the heat and we did a lot of race runs on the soft and hard tyres in order to test our decisions over the last couple of races,” said Lowes, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“We now have a better plan for hot conditions and we also tried a new WP shock too, which gave us a good step forward, and we should have the forks to match soon as well.”
