McConnell switches to OMG Suzuki for 2019 Superstock charge

Aussie fan favourite Billy McConnell will switch to the OMG Suzuki squad for his 2019 Pirelli National Superstock title challenge.

The Adelaide rider, who was in the frame for a seat in the Buildbase Suzuki BSB outfit, took second place behind Keith Farmer last season and looked all set for a move up but has instead changed operations but kept to the same manufacturer.

“I’m really excited to be signing for OMG Racing to contest the National Superstock 1000 championship. Last year I came runner up and this year I’m looking to go one step better with OMG,” said McConnell, on his 32nd (cough) birthday.

“It’s nice to be reunited with my old teammate Luke Mossey and people that I’ve worked with before who have all got the same passion to move forward and get results.

“I feel that OMG is the perfect fit for me to be able to challenge for the championship next year. It’s my second year on a Suzuki and I’m returning to a more familiar suspension set up which I’ve been using throughout most of my time in the UK, so I feel I’ll settle in fast.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to all of my personal sponsors for their continued support. Bring on the new season.”
