Miller confirmed with Pramac Ducati for MotoGP 2018

Australian Jack Miller has been confirmed as making the switch to the Octo Pramac Ducati team for MotoGP 2018.

The switch has been rumoured for a couple of weeks but no announcement at Brno after Miller spent six days in Japan led to speculation he had changed his mind, and would remain with Marc VDS and Honda. Not so.

“The Octo Pramac Racing team wishes to announce that it has reached an agreement for 2018 with Jack Miller. The Australian rider, who will be directly under contract with Ducati, will defend the colours of the Tuscany-based team in the MotoGP World Championship on board a Ducati Desmosedici GP bike as team-mate to Danilo Petrucci,” said a team statement.

The news leaves Scott Redding with limited options now. He could do a straight swap with Miller and return to Marc VDS. The situation with Sam Lowes is not yet clear and the Avtintia Ducati team has not been confirmed, but staying on a Desmosedici is unlikely.
