Mossey to partner Haslam at Kawasaki for a second year

Youngster Luke Mossey has signed with the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team and will again partner Leon Haslam for the 018 MCE British Superbike season.

Next year will be Mossey’s fourth with Pete Extance’s team and he is already looking to build on his 2017 successes after missing the Showdown due to a Thruxton crash which effectively ended his title challenge.

“I’ve been in discussions with Pete for a couple of months now about next season and when he asked me to stay on, to be honest it wasn’t a difficult decision. This is my fourth year with Bournemouth Kawasaki Racing and Pete’s always treated me really well so I’m over the moon to be included in the line-up again for next year,” said Mossey.

“Our aim this season was to win the title and I’m confident we’d still be in with a shout if I hadn’t broken my back in four places. The goal remains the same for next year and I think once I’m fully fit we’ve got a good chance. The Kawasaki is an all-round good bike – we haven’t had any major problems with it and I know how to ride it.

“Admittedly it’s the only bike I’ve ever ridden since I made the transition to superbikes in 2015 but I think it really suits my riding style. Like I said my injury has been a bit of a thorn in my side this season but it’s just one of those things and you have to put it behind you and move on. I’m really looking forward to what 2018 will bring.”
