Jorge Lorenzo has stated he is prepared to help Andrea Dovizioso to this year’s MotoGP world title for the good of Ducati and if he is unable to win it himself.
The three-time world champion is yet to take victory on a Bologna Bullet but Dovi is on a hot streak, sitting second in the title chase after two wins on the bounce.
"If I cannot be champion this year, I would love for it to be Dovi. And if I can help make that possible, in case he has the chance in the final part of the season, I would help him - for my factory and for him,” said Lorenzo, speaking at Assen.
"A championship is a championship, and this is most important. It's too early to talk about these things, but if this is the case, I want to help Ducati win."
