MotoGP riding style change essential, says Redding

British MotoGP star Scott Redding will have to alter his riding style to accommodate the harder-option Bridgestone tyres this season which means and end to the shoulder and lid-scraping antics seen at Valencia.

Redding goes to the first Sepang test next month with a lot of work to do but also with a definite direction in which to progress and that is to work on the hard tyre and change the way he rides to suit.

“For me, the biggest change is the stopping speed. As I brake, lean the bike to try and slow me down faster. That is the biggest thing I need to change for this year,” said Redding, speaking to bikesportnews.com

“Towards the end of the year I was hanging too much off the bike using the soft tyre and it’s not going to work with the new bike.

“I have been studying a lot of videos of the other guys and what I see is they keep their weight very close to the bike to help turn a bit more.”
