Silverstone MotoGP clerk of the course Stuart Higgs has revealed he had already secured the services of support staff ready for a Monday race before it was blocked by factory teams.
The Bennetts British Superbike series director, who was at Silverstone as part of his FIM duties, was fully prepared for a Monday race at the track with the full support of more than 300 mostly unpaid workers
“I had my core officials, 280 plus marshals, 30 doctor and para-medical staff, 12 ambulances and medical helicopter cover all confirmed within one hour of being asked that they could do Monday if required,” said Higgs.
