MotoGP Valencia: Kent to get early taste of Kalex Moto2 chassis

While MotoGP riders test their 2016 kit and the new Michelin tyres here at Valencia next week, Britain's Moto3 champion-elect Danny Kent heads west for the Jerez circuit in Andalucia to sample the Kalex he will ride in Moto2 next year.

"Kalex have been kind enough to lend us one of their own bikes from their workshop," the 21-year-old Gloucestershire rider told bikesportnews.com. "It's very important before the winter break to familiarise myself with the bike, so that I know what to expect for next year.

"If the weather is dry, I'll aim to do 60 or 70 laps a day a day at Jerez. Kalex will give us a base setting, and we won't change that. The main thing is to get a feeling for Moto2 again, and just do laps. I will learn how to ride the bike."

Kent is poised to clinch the Moto3 title this weekend on his Leopard Racing Honda, and will move to Moto2 with the same team. The Kiefer Racing squad behind Leopard Racing already has brilliant form in Moto2, having taken Stefan Bradl to the 2011 world title.
