MotoGP Valencia: Marini claims second pole of 2018

Sky Racing VR46 rider Luca Marini claimed his second pole position of 2018 after a dominant performance in qualifying, beating out Dynavolt duo Xavi Vierge and Marcel Schrotter.

Moving fastest early in the session, Marini was sat comfortabtly at the top of the timing sheets for a large portion of the session, however, with just eight minutes remaining.

Just when the German thought his long awaited search for a pole position could be over, Marini on the very next lap went back faster, 0.168 seconds faster than Schrotter's lap.
