British youngster Charlie Nesbitt has penned a deal with Spain’s Monlau organisation which will see him take part in the 2017 Moto3 Junior World Championship.

The Swindon schoolboy absolutely dominated the Hel British Motostar Championship in 2016 and has already come to the attention of Scott Redding who has provided coaching and mentoring for Nesbitt.

Monlau Group is an organisation in Spain that has a reputation of bringing on bright young talent and can boast that Marc Marquez was one of the riders to pass through their doors. Nesbitt will also benefit from the experience of Michael Bartholemy and the Marc VDS team as his career progresses. Bartholemy has more than 20 years’ experience helping riders and teams and Marc VDS are World Moto2 championship title winners.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me. My family and I have given so much and worked so hard to get us here, and whilst I feel I have earned this opportunity it still feel very lucky to be riding for a team like Monlau Group,” said Nesbitt.

“I am really positive about 2017 because I have an amazing group of experienced people around me that I can turn to for help and advice. I must thank my all my sponsors over the years that have enabled me to get this far and also Scott Redding, Michael Bartholemy and the Monlau Group for believing in me.”
