’Nothing to lose’ for Honda’s Linfoot at Oulton BSB

Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot believes he has nothing to lose at this weekend’s Oulton MCE British Superbike round as he fights for a place in the final Showdown six.

Linfoot missed out on three rounds at the start of the season and has been gradually working his way back to the front but will need three strong points-scoring finishes to muscle his way into the final stages. He has a 21 gap to Michael Laverty in sixth and a further 13 to Stuart Easton in fifth as the Hawick rider returns from a broken right tibia and left ankle sustained at Brands Hatch.

"I didn't race at Oulton Park earlier in the season because I was out with injury but I don't think that should make it harder, the last race I did there I was on the podium so hopefully that bodes well! I think when we start in free practice it should all be equal despite not having done any laps there this year as the team have the data from Jason earlier in the season,” said Linfoot.

"Oulton Park is the last chance saloon for the Showdown; Cadwell Park wasn't the strongest round for us for a variety of reasons and I am the first rider outside the top six so I am the first one with nothing to lose. I feel full of determination and I am ready to give the maximum. I am only focused on the riders in front of me and in reality that is Stuart and Michael. All I can do now is go out in the three races at Oulton Park and do the best job I can as I really want nothing more than to be in the Showdown."
