O’Halloran works on corner entry at Monteblanco test

Honda Racing’s Jason O’Halloran has been working on corner entry setup on the second day of BSB testing at Monteblanco, getting some consistency on the brakes and controlling the amount of backing in the Fireblades does.

The Australian, who was part of the bike’s development team last year with Julien Da Costa, has also made some changes to his riding position in order to be able to move around more through slow corners.

“We been through a lot of changes and if it hasn’t got better, we have learned from, eliminating stuff that doesn’t work and using stuff that does. We’ve got a plan for the next set of runs and that will make one of our problems a lot better,” said O’Halloran, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Monteblanco.

“On corner entry, it is a little difficult at the moment. In the first part of braking it is really good but the next it backs in quite a lot. I don’t mind it doing that, but it has to be consistent, the same every lap.

“Other than that, it is going well. We made to good change moving the bars closer as I have got quite short arms and that felt loads better as I wasn’t able to move properly in the chicanes, I was a bit stuck on the bike but now I can drop my elbow and move more.”
