Putting a difficult few seasons behind him, including a mid-season switch from the Movuno.com Halsall Racing squad this year, he says he’s now in a good place.

“I’ve had really tough few years, but finally I have a team that believe in my ability and I believe in them and that makes all the difference,” he said.

“We’ve got a phenomenal bike in the Ducati, and credit to the whole Moto Rapido Ducati team. They don’t make stories up, they don’t lead you down the garden path.

“When it’s me I’m at fault, when it’s them they’re at fault, but we just have a good open relationship. They gave me the confidence in my own ability again.

“There’s nothing to lose bar a bit of pride. This is massive step and I’m looking forward to two strong races tomorrow.”
